CHLORINE TEST KIT 0–25 PPM
Product Name: Chlorine Test Kit 0–25 ppm Brand: RXSOL Product Category: Water Testing & Analytical Test Kits Measuring Range: 0–25 ppm (mg/L) as Cl₂ Application: Industrial Water Treatment, Cooling Water, Disinfection Monitoring & Marine Water Testing
1. Product Description
RXSOL Chlorine Test Kit 0–25 ppm is a convenient water testing kit designed for the determination of chlorine concentration in water samples. The kit provides a practical method for monitoring chlorine levels in industrial, commercial and water treatment applications.
It is particularly useful for routine chlorine monitoring in cooling water systems, disinfection processes, industrial water treatment plants, and marine applications where chlorine concentration must be maintained within specified operating limits.
The kit is intended for field testing and routine water quality monitoring without the need for sophisticated laboratory equipment.
Applications
Cooling Water Treatment: Monitoring residual chlorine in cooling towers and recirculating water systems to support microbial control programs.
Industrial Water Treatment: Checking chlorine levels in process water, storage tanks and treated water distribution systems.
Marine Applications: Suitable for routine chlorine monitoring in shipboard water treatment systems and industrial marine operations.
Disinfection Monitoring: Verifying chlorine concentration in treated water and assessing the effectiveness of chlorination processes.
Wastewater Treatment: Monitoring residual chlorine during treatment and dechlorination operations.
Water Storage Tanks: Checking chlorine concentration after cleaning and disinfection procedures.
Recommended Testing Procedure
The following is a general procedure for a reagent-based comparator kit. Follow the instructions supplied with the actual RXSOL kit for exact sample volume, reagent quantity and reaction time.
-
Collect a fresh representative water sample in a clean container.
-
Rinse the test vessel with the sample water.
-
Fill the test vessel to the specified volume.
-
Add the designated chlorine testing reagent.
-
Mix gently until the reagent dissolves or disperses completely.
-
Allow the prescribed colour development time.
-
Compare the developed colour with the calibrated chlorine scale.
-
Record the result in ppm (mg/L) as Cl₂.
-
Clean the test vessel thoroughly after testing.
For samples above 25 ppm, use a validated higher-range test method or an approved dilution procedure.

Precautions & Limitations
-
Use fresh samples because chlorine residual can decrease during storage.
-
Avoid contamination of sample containers and test vessels.
-
Use only the reagents specified for the supplied kit.
-
Highly coloured or turbid samples may interfere with visual colour comparison.
-
Other oxidising agents, including bromine and ozone, may produce positive interference.
-
Excessively high chlorine concentrations can cause colour bleaching and falsely low readings in some DPD methods.
-
Do not use expired or deteriorated reagents.
-
Use an appropriate lower-range test kit where very low chlorine concentrations must be measured accurately.
These limitations are consistent with published DPD testing guidance.

Important: Whether the kit measures free chlorine, total chlorine or both must be confirmed from the supplied reagent chemistry. The precise resolution, accuracy, reagent type and test procedure are model-dependent.
Chlorine
Range : 0.1, 0.2,0.4,0.7,1&2ppm as Chlorine.
Directions for use:
1. Add 2 drops of Chlorine Reagent in the test jar.
2. Pour water sample upto 10 ml mark and mix well. Wait for 5 minutes.
3. Now rinse the empty comparator tube with above solution and fill upto the half level of the comparator tube.
4. Insert this tube in sample slot of comparator. Compare the devloped colour with standard comparator colours.
5. Note down the ppm level of Chlorine as CL2
Storage & Handling
Store the kit in a clean, dry and cool environment, away from direct sunlight, excessive heat and moisture.
Keep reagent containers tightly closed and protect them from contamination. Avoid contact with eyes and skin when handling chemical reagents. Wear suitable protective gloves and eye protection.
Shelf life and storage temperature should be confirmed from the supplied reagent labels.
Quality Control
For reliable routine monitoring, users should periodically verify the kit's performance using suitable chlorine reference standards.
Any unexpected reading should be confirmed through repeat testing or an independent validated analytical method.
Packaging
RXSOL Chlorine Test Kit 0–25 ppm is intended for supply as a portable testing kit. Depending on the final product configuration, it may include testing reagents, a sample vessel, a calibrated comparator and operating instructions.
Exact contents, number of tests per kit and refill availability should be confirmed at the time of supply.

DPD colorimetric method
For kits using the DPD colorimetric method, chlorine reacts with DPD (N,N-diethyl-p-phenylenediamine) reagent to develop a pink or reddish colour.
The colour intensity corresponds to the chlorine concentration and is evaluated using a calibrated comparator or suitable measuring instrument.
Free chlorine can be determined using the appropriate DPD reagent. Total chlorine can be measured using additional reagents that allow combined chlorine to be included in the measurement.
