Potassium citrate is known as Tripotassium citrate. Potassium citrate is citrate that is a white, slightly hygroscopic, crystalline powder. Odorless, with the taste of saline, soluble in water, soluble in glycerol, insoluble in alcohol, taste salty and cold. For preservatives, stabilizers and pH buffers, and so on. Medically, it can be used to control uric acid or cystine from kidney stones for the prevention and treatment of hypokalemia and alkalinization of urine.

As a food additive, potassium citrate is used to regulate acidity and is known as E number E332. Medicinally, it may be used to control kidney stones derived from uric acid or cystine.

Usage of  Potassium Citrate

White crystal or powder; odorless; tastes salty; slightly deliquescence; readily soluble in water or glycerine, almost insoluble in ethanol (Relative density 1.98, it will melt and decompose when heated to 230ºC).

In the food processing industry, it is used as a buffering agent, chelate agent, stabilizer, antibiotic oxidizer, emulsifier, flavor
regulator, used in dairy products, jellies, jam, meat, and tinned pastry.

Used as an emulsifier in cheese and used in citrus freshening.
In pharmaceuticals, it is used for curing hypokalemia, potassium depletion, and alkalization of urine.

Potassium citrate is a kind of white or light yellow crystalline particle or crystalline powder, odorless, salty, cool, deliquescent, easily soluble in water, almost insoluble in ethanol.
Potassium Citrate is used as a preservative, stabilizer, and pH buffering agent. According to my country's regulations, it can be used for all kinds of food and used inappropriate amounts according to production needs.

Potassium Citrate is used in food, medicine, and other industries as a buffer, chelating agent, flavoring agent, stabilizer, antioxidant, emulsifying salt, etc.

Uses

Potassium citrate is rapidly absorbed when given by mouth and is excreted in the urine. Since it is an alkaline salt, it is effective in reducing the pain and frequency of urination when these are caused by highly acidic urine. It is used for this purpose in dogs and cats but is chiefly employed as a non-irritating diuretic.

Potassium citrate is an effective way to treat/manage gout and arrhythmia if the patient is hypokalemic.

It is widely used to treat urinary calculi (kidney stones) and is often used by patients with cystinuria. A study of 500 patients with recurrent stones found that it reduced the frequency of stones from 2 per year to 0.5 per year.

It is also used as an alkalizing agent in the treatment of mild urinary tract infections, such as cystitis.

It is also used in many soft drinks as a buffering agent.

Frequently used in an aqueous solution with other potassium salts, it is a wet chemical fire suppressant that is particularly useful against kitchen fires. Its alkaline pH encourages saponification to insulate the fuel from oxidizing air, and the endothermic dehydration reaction absorbs heat energy to reduce temperatures.
