BUFFER SOLUTION pH 10
Buffer Capsules will accurately produce 100 ml. of solution at pH 4.00, 7.00 and 10.00. Hydrion Buffers are free flowing soluble powders that prepare clear or color safe solutions in minutes. The set contains 1 vial of each buffer standard, with each vial containing 10 capsules.
The following mixtures (McIlvaine's buffer solutions) have a buffer range of pH 3 to 8. A mixture containing citric acid, monopotassium phosphate, boric acid, and diethyl barbituric acid can be made to cover the pH range 2.6 to 12.
Ammonia Buffer pH 10.0: Dissolve 5.4 g of ammonium chloride in 20 ml of water, add 35 ml of 10 M ammonia and dilute with water to 100 ml. Ammonia Buffer pH 10.9: Dissolve 67.5 g of ammonium chloride in sufficient 10 M ammonia to produce 1000 ml.
