Kenya Chemical is one of the leading Sodium molybdate Exporters, Manufacturers, Suppliers, and Producers in Nairobi, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, Congo, South Africa, South Sudan, Zambia, Nigeria, Namibia, Ghana, Malawi Nairobi Kenya.
Sodium molybdate is a useful source of molybdate. It is often found as Sodium molybdate dihydrate. In murine models, Sodium molybdate dihydrate inactivated both the active and inactive form of the glucocorticoid receptor complex. With the use of nitrites, molybdate salts have been shown to reduce the emission of hydrogen sulfide from swine manure.

MF NO. MoNa2O4
boiling point 100ºC
Usage for Sodium molybdate CAS NO7631-95-0:
Used in the manufacture of alkaloids, inks, fertilizers, molybdenum red pigment and fastness pigment precipitant, catalyst, molybdenum salt, can also be used in the manufacture of flame retardant and non-pollution cold water system of metal inhibitors, but also used as a galvanizing, polishing agent and chemical reagent.
The Main Application:
1. Used to prepare molybdenum salt and dyes, pigments, catalysts, corrosion inhibitors, etc.
2. Used as a metal corrosion inhibitor, scale remover, bleach accelerator, and skin and hair protectant
3. Used as analytical reagent, used in alkaloid determination, dye, and pharmaceutical industry
4. Precipitating agent, catalyst, molybdenum salt used in the manufacture of alkaloids, inks, fertilizers, molybdenum red pigments, and lightfast pigments. It can also be used to manufacture flame retardants and metal inhibitors in pollution-free cold water systems. Zinc, polishing agents, and chemical reagents.
5. Molybdate is an anodic oxide film-type corrosion inhibitor, which forms a passivation film of ferrous-high iron-molybdenum oxide on the anode iron to act as a corrosion inhibitor.
Uses
The agriculture industry uses 1 million pounds per year as a fertilizer. In particular, its use has been suggested for the treatment of whiptail in broccoli and cauliflower in molybdenum-deficient soils. However, care must be taken because at a level of 0.3 ppm sodium molybdate can cause copper deficiencies in animals, particularly cattle.
It is used in industry for corrosion inhibition, as it is a non-oxidizing anodic inhibitor. The addition of sodium molybdate significantly reduces the nitrite requirement of fluids inhibited with nitrite-amine and improves the corrosion protection of carboxylate salt fluids. In industrial water treatment applications where galvanic corrosion is a potential due to bimetallic construction, the application of sodium molybdate is preferred over sodium nitrite.
Sodium molybdate has the advantage in that the dosing of lower ppm's of molybdate allows for lower conductivity of the circulating water. Sodium molybdate at levels of 50-100 ppm offers the same levels of corrosion inhibition as sodium nitrite at levels of 800+ ppm. By utilizing lower concentrations of sodium molybdate, conductivity is kept at a minimum and thus galvanic corrosion potentials are decreased.
